Warm orange and brown fills built from four CMYK channels - typically C:0 M:50 Y:100 K:0 for orange - are sensitive to ink density limits on uncoated stock. A press running at standard GRACoL ink limits may compress the shadow detail in the brown areas, causing the autumn tones to print flatter than the screen preview shows. Specifying the fill as a named swatch with defined CMYK values, rather than an approximated color, gives the press operator a reference point for ink adjustments.
